چکیده

Sea buckthorn (SB) (Elaeagnus rhamnoides (L.) A. Nelson) is rich in flavonoids, phenolic compounds, anthocyanins, carotenoids, and phytosterol. Its phytochemicals exhibit various biological activities, such as antioxidant, immunomodulatory anti-carcinogenic activities. SB also helps prevent the development of wrinkles protects skin’s surface from UV rays. The purpose present study was to develop characterize an oil (SBO)-loaded nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) for improved skin hydration. response methodology (RSM) central composite design (CCD) were employed optimize influencing factors (wax percentage, surfactant PEG400 percentage surfactant) achieve desirable qualities SBO-NLCs. optimum (minimum) size SBO-NLCs (105.26 nm) obtained with a combination 2.5% wax, 7.5% surfactant, 30% surfactant. A narrow polydispersity index (PDI; 0.16), relatively low zeta potential (ZP; −15.63 mV), high entrapment efficiency (EE; 90.88%) observed this study. Reduced quadratic reduced 2FI models adapted predict conditions attain PDI SBO-NLCs, respectively. ZP EE predicted help cubic model. All statistically significant. Differential scanning calorimetry results suggested that had less crystallinity therefore rate drug expulsion inner core NLCs. noticeable level occlusion effect showed faster vitamin E (biomarker drug) release into within 24 h, released after 48 h significantly higher than free SBO. Additionally, delivered (22.73 ± 1.67 µg/cm2 skin). In conclusion, SBO-NLC delivery system can be used water loss improve Further investigations, stability safety evaluations, are required prior commercialization human use.

The Anticancer Activity of Sea Buckthorn [Elaeagnus rhamnoides (L.) A. Nelson]

Various parts of sea buckthorn [Elaeagnus rhamnoides (L.) A. Nelson], particularly the berries, known also as seaberries, or Siberian pineapples, are characterized by a unique composition of bioactive compounds: phenolic compounds, vitamins (especially vitamin C), unsaturated fatty acids, and phytosterols such as beta-sitosterol. These berries, together with the juices, jams, and oils made from...

Design, characterization, and clinical evaluation of argan oil nanostructured lipid carriers to improve skin hydration

Given its advantages in skin application (eg, hydration, antiaging, and protection), argan oil could be used in both dermatological and cosmetic formulations. Therefore, the preparation of nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) using argan oil as a liquid lipid is a promising technique, since the former constitute well-established systems for dermal delivery. The aim of this work was to develop a...

Rosuvastatin Loaded Nanostructured Lipid Carrier: For Enhancement of Oral Bioavailability

Rosuvastatin is a lipid lowering agent, which has low solubility and low bioavailability of 20% with oral administration. Therefore the present study was undertaken to improve solubility and bioavailability of Rosuvastatin by formulating it into Nano structured lipid carriers (NLCs) by using stearic acid and Compritol ATO 888 as solid-lipid, Oleic acid as liquid-lipid and Poloxamer 188 as a sur...

In vivo evaluation of a simvastatin-loaded nanostructured lipid carrier for bone tissue regeneration.

Alveolar bone loss has long been a challenge in clinical dental implant therapy. Simvastatin (SV) has been demonstrated to exert excellent anabolic effects on bone. However, the successful use of SV to increase bone formation in vivo largely depends on the local concentration of SV at the site of action, and there have been continuing efforts to develop an appropriate delivery system. Specifica...
